Overview

Task : Build a game for naive guest without direct instruction on Oculus Quest 2.

Story : The story of the game is originated from Chinese Valentine’s day. The player is a male god and he was seperated from his lover. He wants to meet his lover.

Game : The player should collected the stars to build the bridge to find his lover.

I did the programming for player and environment’s interactions and the sound management.

Design

Brainstorm

Our artist came up with the idea of creating scenes with clouds and stars. Another teammate suggested using the Chinese Valentine's Day story. We have different opinions on the use of stars in games.

Since I have UX experience, I understand the importance of intuition for naive guests. Therefore, I mainly gave my opinion on the feasibility of gameplay and suggested landing on the idea of collecting stars and building the bridge. At last, the result turns out really well that our naive guest followed all the steps that we predicted.

Design

I designed to place a star in front of the player so that if the player collects the star, he will see that the star can build the bridge. If the player does not know how to move, there will be some indirect voice hint.
